South African born, Nashville and NC based singer/songwriter Laura Reed has become a global success story with her signature vocal style, her thought-provoking lyricism, and powerhouse live presence. Laura recently stopped by Thistle Thursday alongside Grammy Award winning Shannon Sanders for a performance that had everyone on their feet. Before going onstage, Laura sat down with us to answer a few questions:
TSC: If you could ask God one question, what would it be?
LR: One Question? That is tough… I guess I am always a little confused, because I see hard things, or bad things, happen to good people. I would want to ask God, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Nobody should go without, or suffer, after all of the abundance God has blessed us with.
TSC: What is your favorite part of the café?
LR: Obviously, the look is really awesome, the tea cup chandeliers, the floors… What really stood out to me is the vibe. I just felt a loving vibe as soon as I walked in the door.
TSC: If you had to drink one drink the rest of your life, what would it be?
LR: Cold, Alkalized Water! So good.
TSC: What was the first song that you learned to sing?
LR: Amazing Grace.
TSC:What were you most looking forward to for this show?
LR: I was excited to meet some of the people involved with Thistle Farms, and the Café. I am really looking forward to meeting some of the survivors. I really love what Thistle Farms and the Thistle Stop Cafe are doing in the community.
Well, we love Laura Reed, too! She had the audience on their feet, clapping, dancing, and giving out standing ovations freely. Many thanks to Laura Reed, Shannon Sanders, and everyone who made this night one to remember!

Love heals women, one day at a time; and, love heals family relationships, one day at a time.Thistle Farms is the miracle that my daughter Rachel needed coming out of prison having lost everything in her life. The miracle she needed provided a safe place for recovery from almost 20 years of substance abuse and addiction -- years of treatment, recovery and relapse.
