Each woman is a great leader renowned around the globe for changing the way we see women, girls, and marginalized people. These three may be some of the most famous women in our time, but there are others who have challenged social norms, risen as leaders, and changed the world for the good.
March is Women’s History Month. At Shared Trade, we are taking this month to celebrate, admire, and honor women who have changed so many lives with messages of empowerment, hope, and love. We believe that every woman can be a leader in her community. And that’s why we invest with hope and love in economic freedom for women around the world.
Ellen won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 with other leaders from Liberia for their role in peacemaking in a country ravaged by civil war. She was the first democratically elected female president of an African nation. And she is seen as a hero in the fight against Ebola.
Ellen is known for her stern approach, commitment to excellence, and willingness to go the extra mile to stand up for corruption in her country. She wants peace, and she symbolizes hope to the citizens of Liberia.
At Shared Trade, we admire Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf as a woman leader, wielding power to create freedom from violence and poverty. Recognizing leaders like President Johnson-Sirleaf is what this month is all about.

Love heals women, one day at a time; and, love heals family relationships, one day at a time.Thistle Farms is the miracle that my daughter Rachel needed coming out of prison having lost everything in her life. The miracle she needed provided a safe place for recovery from almost 20 years of substance abuse and addiction -- years of treatment, recovery and relapse.
